However, the decisive factor was that he, Paul Albert Gneiding, maintained a close, friendly business relationship with Mr and Mrs Sch\u00e4fer as a technical sales representative in Stuttgart. After Albert Sch\u00e4fer&#8217;s death, his wife Emma Sch\u00e4fer continued to run the business alone until 1968. She then looked for a successor. This was important to her: a woman should become managing director &#8211; a progressive idea at the time!<\/p><p>It was agreed that our mother, Sofie Gneiding (who had been working in her father-in-law&#8217;s commercial agency since 1960) would take over the business. She was supported in sales by our father, Paul Robert Gneiding, who continued his father&#8217;s commercial agency. There have been an incredible number of innovations over the years: Products have changed, the variety of products has increased enormously, stock management has been made easier by computerisation. Communication channels have changed &#8211; the old telex machine has been replaced by fax, which is now being replaced by e-mail.<\/p><p>Sales are governed by different laws &#8211; in the past you would ask a sales representative about products, but today you start searching the Internet. But one thing has not changed in all these years: the key to our long and successful company history:<\/p><p>We want to maintain a good, trusting relationship with our customers! Even if you may not feel like a king with us in every situation, you are never just a number!
